Te Tuhi Trip

In Term 3 our class went to Te Tuhi to view some art work done by a New Zealand artist. Jeremy the educator was with us in mixing colours on a colour wheel. It was a great trip as we learned some of visual art skills.

Britomart and Waterfront Trip

Last week Room 11 went on a train to Britomart with other Junior classes. We had a great time but at the end of the day we were tired.

Parent Teacher Interview

Today is our teacher parent interview at 2pm and the school closes at 1:45pm.
Children are involved in the interview so that they can listen and understand what their next steps are.
Mid-year reports were sent home last week on Friday.

Rumplestilskin show

Yesterday Room 11 went to watch the show at the school hall. The children were so excited about the play especially Aloha and her friend.
The message from this play was being honest is very important in a family.

Kings College Trip

Last Friday Room 11 went for a trip to Kings College. We went in the bus and all enjoyed the trip.
We went to look at their orchestra. The tutor talked and explained each musical instrument. The student played the instrument as he talked. Whaea Kikee played the school song to show how thankful we are with their performance.
After that we went to look at the chapel before we went back to school.

Topic Study

We started talked about our topic this morning. All the children brought their toys and they described them.
They enjoyed sharing their own ideas to each other.

Courtney's last day

On Friday last week it was Courtney's last day. She spent 4 weeks in our class for her practicum. She gave each child a present as well as the teacher and teacher aides.
Mrs. Sini said a few words of thanks and presented a small gift for her.
It was sad to say goodbye to her.

Student Teacher from Te Wana o Aotearoa

She is working in our room for 4 weeks and this is her second at the training college. She has been good with the children and she had an observation lesson last week by her lecturer.
Room 11 wish her good luck for her future.

ERO Visit

The school had just finished a visit from ERO last week. We had an oral report which was very positive and we will be reviewed in 3 years time.
All teachers are in a relaxing mood after this visit.

School Assembly

Room 11 went to the hall for the School Assembly and Doctor Rabbit was sharing how to brush teeth probably. The assembly was led by Team 6.

Cultural Festival Rehearsal in the hall

All cultural groups went to the hall for dress rehearsal and the Samoan Cultural group did two items. Each group was given ten minutes to perform. The time was too short and children were rushing through with their items.

Weekend Stories

On Saturday I went to the Polyfest at Manukau with my cousins and my family. I had a great time and I bought some Samoan food from different stalls. I watched different activities from the Samoan stage and most of the students performed well.
Later on, I went to my cousins' house because I was tired. Then my mum came at 7 o'clock to put me up.

Life Education Caravan

Room 11 went to visit the Life Education Caravan. The children learned about how to keep themselves safe at home and school. They also looked at parts of the body. They were excited to see Harold the giraffe.

Dad's new car

In the weekend I went to my uncle's house with my mum and dad. Then I played with my brother and cousin. We went there to get my dad's new car and for my sister's birthday party.
Later on, I went back home to sleep.

MOTAT Trip

On Tuesday Room 11 went on a trip to Motat with Rooms 1, 7 and 22. They went by bus and there were a  lot of parents. When the children got there Elaine greeted them.
After that they walked slowly to a nice building for an orientation before morning tea. Then Room 11 went to their first session which was called ' Challenge'.
The children had a great day and they all enjoyed their self-guided activities.

Team Assembly on Friday

Room 11 was leading the team's assembly on Friday. Mathew was the leader and Florence said bible verse.
Mr. Letufuga played the song for the assembly.
After that all children went back to their classroom.

Motat Trip

Room 11 went on a trip to the MOTAT with 3 other Junior Classes. They went by a bus and all children had a great time.

MOTAT Trip

On Tuesday the 2nd of March Room 11 went for a trip to MOTAT by bus. When the children got there they hopped out of the bus and walked to a beautiful spot allocated for our school.

Later on, Room 11 went to their session which is called 'Challenge Me' and the children played with different games and activities.

Trip to the Museum

In 2010 Room 11 went to the Museum to attend a session about Matariki. They had a good time and learn how to make poi.
